Robert W. Tangeman

Robert W. Tangeman, age 42,
of New Bremen, died on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 4:15 A.M. at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 11, 1984, the son of Larry Tangeman, who survives in New Bremen, and the late Ruth H. (Wuebker) Tangeman who died on July 1, 2025. On May 16, 2009, he married Sarah A. Storrer, and she survives along with their four sons: Jack, Tyler, Kade, and Ian, all at home in New Bremen. Also surviving are his siblings, Mark (Stacy) Tangeman and John (Mary) Tangeman, and his mother and father in-law, John (Cindy) Storrer all of New Bremen, and his in-laws: Michael (Angie Weisenberger) Storrer of Columbus, Joshua Storrer of Columbus, and Bart (Kendra Grilliot) Storrer of Dayton, as well as his eight nieces and two nephews.

Rob was a 2002 graduate of New Bremen High School, and continued his education, graduating from The Ohio State University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in construction systems management. He used his knowledge and skill of construction and engineering working as a construction administrator at Garmann-Miller in Minster for a number of years. He was also engaged in farming alongside of his family. He was an active member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. As a dedicated husband and loving father, Rob took great pride in his family and loved spending time together, but he especially loved supporting his sons' various sporting activities and 4-H ventures. He also enjoyed skiing with his family and friends, camping, spending time at the Auglaize County Fair, and was a lover of all sports, but especially OSU football. He also kept busy as an active member of the New Bremen Athletic Boosters, New Bremen Ag Boosters, and the Auglaize County Junior Fair Boosters.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Rob's life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of the Holy Redeemer (120 S. Eastmoor Drive, New Bremen) with Rev. Fr. Mark Hoying and Pastor Trent Fledderjohann officiating. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and again on Friday morning, AT THE CHURCH, from 9:30-10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions in memory of Rob can be given for his sons' future college educations, or be made to the New Bremen Athletic Boosters.
