Robert J. Lammers of Stanton, California
January 22, 1950 - February 1, 2025
Robert was the oldest of eight children born to Lorin (Larry) and Lorraine (Diddy) Lammers in Bethesda, Maryland. The son of a Naval Officer and Naval Flight Nurse, Robert moved six times before the family settled in Fountain Valley, CA when Robert was 13 years old. As an altar boy at both St. Mary's Church in Alexandria, VA and St. Simon and Jude Church in Huntington Beach, CA, he learned to recite an entire Catholic Mass in Latin. Robert was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow during his time in the Boy Scouts of America. Robert graduated from Fountain Valley High School in 1967 and after attending Orange Coast College went on to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he studied Architecture and Ornamental Horticulture.
Robert loved horticulture and learning about plants and flowers. He worked for many years at Kitano's Nursery and filled his home with a wide variety of interesting plants and flowers. As a lover of Egyptian art, he had an extensive collection of Egyptian art that adorned his walls. Though he loved working at the nursery, he decided to change careers and obtain a real estate license. Robert was a successful realtor in Orange County where he met some of his closest friends. Robert continued working in real estate until he was no longer able to drive to due to advancing Multiple Sclerosis. Though Robert's health continued to deteriorate, he maintained a positive attitude. He loved playing Bingo and card games and was often found in the rec room of his assisted living facility surrounded by other residents playing card games and calling Bingo.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Diddy, and is survived by his brothers Fred (Christine), Bill (Rebecca), Charles (Lisa), Richard (Brandi) and Joseph (Paul) and his sisters Caroline (Walter) and Mary (Bill) along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and grandnieces/nephews.
Services for Robert will be held graveside on June 24th at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville, Ohio. Robert will be interred alongside his parents and among other relatives.
A lunch reception will be held immediately after the service with his family and guests to share memories of Robert. He lived a full life and will be missed.
