NORMAN A. JACOBY, age 81

of New Bremen, died on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 4:36 A.M. at his residence near New Bremen. He was born on April 14, 1945 in Celina, OH. He was the son of the late William L. and Mary M. (Hertenstein) Jacoby. On September 17, 1966, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, he married Donna J. Dicke who survives near New Bremen. Also surviving are their children Daniel and Amy Jacoby of New Bremen, Jennifer and Ken Wolters of Minster and Jody and Doug Schaefer of New Bremen. Other survivors include 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, Norman’s sisters Judy and John Sudhoff of Celina, Dorothy and Scott Hawkey of St. Marys, and his sister in-law and brother in-law Carole and Jerry Ferguson of Shreveport, LA. Preceding Norman in death were his parents, his father and mother in-law, John and LaRue Dicke and brother-in-law Thomas Dicke.

Norman was a 1963 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He had a love of the outdoors, riding his golf cart to his woods with his old transistor radio, listening to his favorite music. He also enjoyed taking hunting trips with friends for deer, small game and birds and sharing stories about their adventures. Norm also enjoyed traveling to tractor pulls and gun shows around the area. Norman was a farmer his entire life, working on his parent’s farm and later, with his wife, purchasing the Dicke family farm. He retired from Veyance Corp. (formerly Goodyear) of St. Marys and in retirement worked part-time as a parts delivery driver for Federated Auto Parts of Celina. He was a regular attendee of the Bolly’s Breakfast Club in New Bremen, where he caught up on all the “news” from around the area.

Graveside services and interment to honor Norman’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Memorial contributions in memory of Norman may be made to Grand Lake Hospice at 1122 E Spring St, St Marys, OH. 45885. Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home of New Bremen is assisting the Jacoby family and condolences and memories may be shared with the family on the funeral home's website at www.gilberghartwigfh.com.
