EDWARD W. HICKERSON, age 64,
of Minster, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 5:25 P.M. at the Lima Memorial Health System in Lima. He was born on May 18, 1962, in St. Marys, the son of the late Morris J. and Charline A. (Rosenbeck) Hickerson, Sr. On February 14, 2014, he married Beverly A. Tostrick, sharing twelve years of happiness together. Beverly survives in Minster. Also surviving are his children: Cameron Hickerson of Wapakoneta, Collin Hickerson of Minster, Colton (Leah) Hickerson of Ft. Loramie, Josh (Kathryn) Schwable of New Bremen, Justin Schwable of New Bremen, Jacob Schwable of Minster, Brandi (Jarvie) Plotner of Sidney, Brittani Fark and Brietta Fark both of Wapakoneta; his eight grandchildren: Leon Hickerson, Oakley Hickerson, Mason and Jaden Schwable, Gavin and Amiyah Schwable, and Destiney and James Plotner.
Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Constance (Dale) Forsythe of Piqua, Cathy (Rick) Hagens of Anna, James (Patricia) Hickerson of Ft. Loramie, Timothy Hickerson of Sidney, Cynthia (John) Wright of Sidney, Jerry (Suzanne) Hickerson of Houston, Margaret Rickey of Sidney, Robert Hickerson of Minster, Melinda (David) Kaeck of Sidney, and Andrew (Wendy) Hickerson of Yorkshire; a sister in-law Marcia Hickerson of Anna, his mother in-law Barb Tostrick of New Bremen, and a brother in-law Brian (Holly) Tostrick of New Bremen. Along with his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers: Morris Hickerson, Jr., Daniel Hickerson, and Archie Hickerson, a brother in-law Joel Rickey, and his father in-law William Tostrick.
Ed had graduated from Houston High School in 1980, and went on to further his education attending the Joint Vocational School in Piqua and the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology in Troy. He was a man of deep faith, first being raised in the Catholic church, before finding his way to other churches and finding his church home in several Pentecostal / Evangelical churches in the Sidney area where he enjoyed playing musical instruments, and preaching the Gospel. He also practiced his faith by watching Jimmy Swaggart regularly on T.V., and traveling to local jails and spreading the good news to anyone who would listen. He was the very definition of an outdoorsman who loved to hunt deer, rabbit, squirrel, racoon, and turtle, and loved to spend any free time that he had fishing with Bev. He also spent years raising and training coon hounds and enjoyed many hours at the Kenton Coon Trials. He loved spending time with his family and friends, but especially loved taking his grandchildren fishing on Lake Loramie. He had been a welder by trade, but has also worked at a number of local factories in the Sidney area for many years. He will be remembered for his strong loyalty and love for the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Guardians, and UM - Go Blue!
