DELORES ELIZABETH (SCHROER) STIENECKER, age 89

Of New Bremen, was called home by God on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 12:25 P.M. at the Briarwood Village in Coldwater. She was greeted by so many that went before her, including her husband Elton D. Stienecker who died on Jan. 13, 1996, and infant son Len in 1960, her mother and father Harry B. and Clara C. (Topp) Schroer to whom she was born on June 21, 1936, as well as her beloved furry friends, and many other dear friends. She is survived by her two loving sons, Rick (Cindy) Stienecker of Troy, and Mark Stienecker of St. Marys.

Delores was a stay-at-home wife, then mother and cake baker and decorator until the mid-1970's when she dedicated her energy to becoming a nurse. After graduating from nurse's training at Lima Technical College, she was an ER nurse at Piqua Memorial Hospital for 23 years. After retiring, she learned to frame art at the Artist's Touch before serving New Bremen as a City Council Woman and also was a Central Committee Woman. Having a servant's heart, she was also a life-long member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, and even took a mission trip to the Ukraine where they served several rural hospitals. She enjoyed her work on the Lock One and Lockkeeper's House restoration projects. She also loved being involved with the New Bremen Historic Association and Museum, especially at Christmas time when she would get to talk to Dr. Snowflake about his art. She was an avid collector of all things Disney and New Bremen. Both collections have been shared with equally passionate collectors! She created beautiful greeting cards that won blue ribbons at the Auglaize County Fair, she grew stunning flower gardens, and always looked forward to the next Disney Cruise and the "all you can eat ice cream" up on the 7th floor - to the left. She lived a full life!

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen with Rev. David Voll officiating. Interment will follow in German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the services, at the funeral home, on Monday from 10:00 -11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Briarwood Village Entertainment Fund as she loved singing along with the local musicians that came regularly. She also participated in many of the craft projects that were provided to the residents. Condolences and memories may be shared with the Stienecker family online at www.gilberghartwigfh.com.
