Beatrice Ann Young

BEATRICE ANN YOUNG, age 81,

formerly of New Bremen and Valdez, AK, died on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 4:50 A.M. at the JTDM Hospital in St. Marys, after a sudden illness. She was born on October 30th, 1944 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Stanley C. and Helena B. (Clerke) Young. Ann is survived by her siblings: Tom (Cindy) Young of Erlanger, KY and Bill (Cindy) Young of New Bremen. Along with her siblings, Ann is survived by several nieces and nephews. 

Ann was a graduate of New Bremen High School. A member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Ann lived a life full of adventure, and a love of the outdoors. Ann attended Colorado State University, graduating with a degree in Horticulture. After college, Ann moved to Durango, Colorado and later to Valdez, Alaska. Ann found a passion in preparing meals that brought people together, whether at home or in remote places. Over the years, worked as a white-water rafting guide, cooked for hunting and fishing expeditions, including time spent in the Kodiak Islands, all the while cooking for those that she guided. Ann found home in Valdez, Alaksa and worked as a caregiver.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date in the Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. Memorial contributions in memory of Ann can be made to the Grand Lake Hospice (1122 E Spring St, St Marys, OH 45885), St. Paul United Church of Christ (119 N Franklin St, New Bremen, OH 45869), or to Otterbein St. Marys (11230 State Route 364, St. Marys, OH 45885).
