ALAN D. SAINTIGNON, age 49
of New Bremen, died on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at his residence near New Bremen. He was born on September 11, 1976 in Coldwater, OH. He is the son of Bruce E. and Lorraine (Kunk) Saintignon who survives. On March 18, 2000 at Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Wapakoneta, he married Jennifer L. Hixenbaugh, who survives near New Bremen. Also surviving are their children Luke and Seth Saintignon of New Bremen. Other survivors include Alan’s siblings, Lee Ann Saintignon of Maria Stein, Carl (Kristi) Saintignon of Fort Recovery, Janice (Doug) Holdheide of Maria Stein, and Tim (Wendi) Saintignon of Celina, Sister-in-law Jaymee (Mark) Donovan of Botkins and Judy (Andy) Enneking Miamisburg. Alan is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding Alan in death was his father Bruce and stepmother Lois, his father and mother in-law, Jay and Sue Hixenbaugh, and brother and sister-in-law John (Jenny) Hixenbaugh.
Alan was a beloved husband and a devoted father. He was bred to work, born to build, and designed to love. He was extremely mechanically inclined, and could fix just about anything. Alan had a love of motorcycles and riding with family and friends. He enjoyed shooting, rifles and trap with his boys. Alan worked for many years for Dave Nagel Excavating, and enjoy being behind the controls as a heavy equipment operator and especially enjoyed running the scraper. His favorite piece of heavy equipment was the CAT 613C scraper.
There are no services planned at this time. Memorial Contributions in Alan’s name can be made to Do Good Restaurant and Ministries (25 W. Main St. Osgood, Ohio 45351). Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home of New Bremen is assisting the Saintignon family and condolences and memories may be shared with the family on the funeral home's website at www.gilberghartwigfh.com.
